World Kidney Day

World Kidney Day started in 2006 as a joint effort by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF). It has steadily grown into a global kidney health movement, and this year hundreds of events have been organized all over the world, including a kidney awareness walk in Nigeria, free screenings for kidney disease, high blood pressure and diabetes in Chicago, Illinois, a lecture about renal disease in Greece, and many more.

National Kidney Disease Awareness Month

Kidneys serve a vital function in the body, filtering blood to remove wastes and extra water.    When the kidneys are afflicted by disease, wastes build up, and if not treated, kidney failure is possible.
