Over 67% of women aged 40 and over have had a mammogram within the past 2 years.

Mammography has helped reduce breast cancer mortality in the U.S. by nearly 1/3 since 1990.The National Cancer Institute recommends that women age 40 and older have mammograms every 1 to 2 years, and that women who have a higher than average risk of breast cancer should consider regular mammograms before age 40 and/or more frequent mammograms, as determined by a health care provider.
