MoveOn Members to Host "I Am An American" House Meetings in Advance of Introduction of Immigration Reform Legislation

Organization: reports that on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24, MoveOn members across the country will come together at "I Am American" house meetings to share stories of how thier families came to this country and to develop plans to push for meaningful immigration reform in the Senate.

These meetings come weeks before a "Group of Eight" Senators will introduce a Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill to Congress.

According to MoveOn, the Senators are "still working out details that could affect millions of people—like how long immigrants must wait to apply for citizenship, whether LGBTQ families will be eligible for citizenship, and if all this will depend on even more costly militarization of the border."    They see a narrowing window of opportunity to add their voices on these issues.
